Woodland Valley Campground Parking Lot (fee charged). Trail crosses road, skirts the edge of the campground, then crosses Woodland Creek on wood bridge. Trail climbs steeply, passing registration box.

Low point between Cornell and Slide Mtns. Unmarked trail to left leads to spring (400') and down the beautiful valley of the East Branch of the Neversink River.

Excellent spring right of trail. Trail steepens, climbing stairs of rock and wood.

Summit of Slide Mtn. (4204'), highest point in the Catskill Mountains. Trail descends on old jeep road, built to service the fire tower formerly on the summit.

Junction with Curtis-Ormsbee Trail (Blue Markers) to the left.

Pass unmarked trail to the right to Winnisook Lake over private property. This is the Steps Trail, and was the main access to the summit before the jeep road was built.

Trail ends at the junction with the Phoenicia-East Branch Trail (Yellow Markers). Left to Denning parking lot, right to parking lot on County Rt 47.
