 Hiking - Eastern Devil's Path

Devil's Path (Eastern Section) Red Markers

Trail starts on Prediger Road, off Platte Clove Road. There is no parking lot at this heavily used trailhead, but many cars can be parked on the right side of the road. Do not block the driveways!

Trail junction with the Jimmy Dolan Notch Trail (Blue Markers), which goes right to the notch between Indian Head and Twin, making a nice return route for a circular dayhike.

Trail joins old Overlook road from Platte Clove, turns right.

Trail Junction with Overlook Trail (Blue Markers) which goes straight ahead to Devil's Kitchen Leanto (.13 mi), Echo Lake (2.8 mi) and Overlook Mt. (4.11 mi). Devil's Path turns right sharply off the old road following red markers. Trail ascends steeply over several false summits with great views before reaching the true summit. Rule of thumb in the Catskills: Don't even think about the summit until you've passed the 3500' No Camping marker.
