Start of trail at junction with Escarpment Trail, just above the old parking lot (no longer accessible by car) known as Scribner's. Old road ascends gently.

Pass old foundations and remnants on the left (you'll have to look hard) of the Kaaterskill Hotel Manager's House. The woods beyond are scattered with old foundations and walls from the power plant and other service buildings.

Junction with Escarpment Trail (Blue Markers). To the left, an old driveway leads to the Kaaterskill Hotel site.
