Welcome to the Online Guide to the Catskill Mountains

The Catskill Guide is 11 years old!

For 11 years, the Catskill Guide has been the premier website for discovering all the Catskill Mountains region has to offer. Last year the Catskill Guide and the Catskill Archive (the history section), had over 1,000,000 visitors looking for information on hiking, history, and businesses in the land of Rip Van Winkle.

Important advance notice!

John Ham, noted railroad historian has written another book in his series on the Catskill Mountains! This book is about the 19th and early 20th century hotels and resorts that the railroads served. The book contains many photographs of the old hotels, many of which have never been published before. The book is scheduled to be released June 2008 in a very limited run.
